breeding ideas
been looking and looking at prices on certain morphs and I got a standard idea of what the pricing is gonna be.
I am however unsure of what sex i should get them as.Here is what I am interested in buying
Two Pastel's
Spider
Fire
Was thinking 1.1 pastel
0.1 spider
1.0 fire
That way get super pastels, bumblebess, and fire flies. I have been drawing up rack ideas so I have the room and the money for it soon.I just dont know what to get tell me what you think.
Was gonna get the 0.1 pastel and 0.1 spider first then a year later get the 1.0 fire and 1.0 pastel. I think I have it down packed but please feel free to chime in.

Re: breeding ideas
I would go 1.1 pastels and everything else females.... 1 male can easily breed 3 females, you could have
normals
pastels
super pastels
spiders
bee's
fire
and firefly's
from there you have more options..... keep a firefly and breed to spider femalse. keep male bee breed to female pastel ect..... you can do wicked things with that set up. That is what i would do

I agree more females will benefit you in the long run. They take longer to grow.

Re: breeding ideas
Alternatively, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a recessive male (albino or hypomelanistic if you're looking not to go too far out of the same price range) to breed to females of the rest.

You should rather buy a female ball python with recessive genes, and let the potential sire have other genes than recessive. Then you're faster on your way to a rare combo.

I would recommend you to take another gene than Fire. They're being bred to all different projects now so every idea will soon be done. How about a vanilla? The supers looks awesome and isn't seen for sale often.

Agree... 1.1 Pastels 0.1 Spider 0.1 Fire if those are the morphs you have decided you want to work with.
Remember to keep your best looking offspring back for your breeding stock and enjoy yourself...
It can seem like a lot of work sometimes but the experience of finding a female sitting on eggs, or opening your incubator and seeing the first heads sticking out of a clutch of eggs you have been waiting for 2 months to hatch really makes it worth it plus some

Re: breeding ideas
If I were you, I would buy the highest priced morph as a male, and the rest as females, since females are usually priced higher. If you are planning on breeding, I suggest either buying adult / sub-adult females or buying females one year in advance of the male.
Good luck.

Re: breeding ideas
I cant find the genetic site i was using before. It had a table on the left and right. You selected the male and female then it showed what the off spring would be in percentages. I cant find it anywhere online and I could really use it now. Please help guys, it was like genetics for dummies, just click and get results
