    Possible milksnake trade?

I was just offered 5 milksnakes in a trade (for electronic equipment), and debating over whether or not to do it... I've never had a milk, just corns & BPs so far, but I assume their husbandry is similar to a corn? My main issue is with housing them, since I'm already short on rack space with my current 14. I do have plenty of extra tubs and 2 strips of flexwatt, so I'm thinking I could just set them up on a spare shelf - my closet has three LARGE steps/shelves that would be perfect.

Do you think that would be acceptable, at least until I either sell them or get another rack? And do they even need all of that, for somebody who lives in a very mild climate? Two of my corns don't have any heat source, and their tubs maintain well in the mid-70s... somebody here actually suggested that setup, and so far so good. :ok: If I do decide to keep them permanently, I'd probably get a rack to house both them & my corns (and the hognose I'm getting soon). Are those three species compatible, in terms of their husbandry needs?

Finally, what do you think this group is worth? They're all proven breeder adults, and I do have pics available... they look pretty to me, but I don't know milks!

Yes, husbandry is similar to corns. The water dish is usually enough humidity, but humid hides can be helpful. Hondurans (I'm guessing that's what they are from the morphs) will definitely need heat if you plan on breeding them. They're also more of a burrower than corns so make sure to give them something to hide in/under.

That sounds like a mighty fine group of milks to start with, especially since they're proven adults. I enjoy my Hondos immensely, so I'd say go for it.

Oh yeah, they are Hondurans... forgot to add that detail, LOL. Thanks for the input!

Out of curiosity, how/where do you house your milks?

My milks are in a homemade rack that holds 10 41qt tubs with flexwatt belly heat. Most of them would be fine in 32qts, but some Hondos might need more space.

Nice rack. I'm pretty much out of rack space, so they'll either have to live on my closet shelves - or I'll have to get another rack. Still not sure if I'll keep them or trade/sell the group, so we'll see what happens!
