feeding question based on weight

i asked this a while back and got an awser but my scale was broke..

last saturday i feed my bp an adult mouse, he took it fine and it hardly left a lump in his belly. after he ate, he was very active (hunting??) and i was scared to offer him another, so today i went out and bout him a big boy scale. he weighs 199 grams, and about 18-20 inches, could i feed him 2 mice, if needed to be moved to bigger rats, i don't want to at momwnt cause he has about 10 adult mice frozen to go through, anyway whats your opnion

Feed your mice off and then bump up to appropriate size rat, I would guess pups after the 10 mice. I prefer to do 1 size apprpriate verses 2 at the same time.

speaking of getting a new scale... I was also thinking about getting one. what do you guys recommend for that. I don't want to spend a ton of money on it

You dont feed them to see a bulge. With ball pythons smaller meals more frequent is better. Keeps them eating on a consistent schedule.

at 200 grams he can take a small adult of about 15-20 grams every 3-5 days.

Based on your snakes weight, you could figure about 20-23g for prey size. If you are going to feed multiples, make sure their combined weight falls into this range.

ebay has alot of digital scales cheap, just make sure it weighs in grams.

At 199 grams, your snake is obviously still young and should be growing rapidly. A general rule to follow is to feed about 10-15% of the snake's weight at each feeding. That would be 20-30 grams of food. How much do the mice weigh? Assuming they are adult mice, they should be 20-29 grams each (according to rodentpro, but depending on where you got them it could be quite a bit off from that).

1 mouse is probably good for now, but your snake may be big enough to take 2 mice per feeding before you run out of those 10 mice.

A rat pup is about the same size as an adult mouse (again according to rodentpro), so by the time the mice are gone, you will probably want the next size up. Check to be sure based on where you are getting your feeders, because the names of the difference sizes of feeders can be quite different depending on where you get it.

thank you to all, i have a mini scale thats probely quicker to weigh feeders on. also to above post, i bought my new one at bed-bath-beyond for 30 bucks on sex, and it weighs up to 11 lbs.
