Might be playing "who's the daddy"

I've got a total sausage-fest up in here... 4-5 (potentially) breedable males, but only 2 gals large enough for them! So until I get my hands on another big girl or two, I'm going to play some "who's the daddy" with them. I don't even know who's ready to breed, aside from Toby the proven stud, but I'm giving them a go! Not going to bother with the het boy, though, since his het mate is only 600g - and it would be silly to pair him with a normal.

Has anyone else done this, and what kind of results did you have? I'm curious to see what happens, in terms of who locks and who produces eggs... so far I have confirmed locks with Toby the pastel (since early September), possible locks with Julius the mojave, and will be introducing the spider & black pastel in a few weeks. Should be interesting!

Here's a shot of Julius & Nerissa from earlier tonight... he's been with Nerissa twice now, but no confirmed locks yet. Just a lot of courting, blood trailing, etc. **crossing fingers**

Re: Might be playing "who's the daddy"

P.S. Can I assume Toby hasn't "completed the deed" with either girl, if he and/or the other boys show interest? He's locked with Mona as we speak, so I guess she still isn't gravid... yeesh, how long does this take?? Oh, and how long of a break should I give the girls between pairings?

Months, and a few more months if she takes her time
Continue to pair them until she flat out refuses males.
I give 2days off for her unless she eats on the second day, then she gets another day off.

Re: Might be playing "who's the daddy"

Thanks! Both Julius & Vinnie have been introduced to the ladies now, and they definitely seem interested... but so far the only definite locks have been with Toby. Still plenty of time, I'm sure, so I'll just keep cycling them around until ovulations.
