Ways to keep humidity up

What are some methods to keep the humidity up in a ball python enclosure? My ball python had a terrible shed last time and I want his next shed to be better. So share with me how to keep a vivarium nice and humid.

This is literally 15 pages of answers packed into one post and 4 simple sentences. The only other thing you could do is keep a damp towel over the open part of the screen, but that's a pain to keep damp

If it's a tank or large viv then a humid hide works well.

As large of a water bowl as can fit into the enclosure. This works in 2 ways. More surface area to add to the humidity and more importantly, allows the snake to soak before a shed.

I use the foil over the screen enclosure.....
when they are blue we spray down the tank 2 to 3 times a day...
humid hide which is filled with moss and sprayed down....
wet towel over the other side of the enclosure...

Now this might be overkill for some...but we live in AZ. I have to add...I cannot wait until I get my tubs as I hear that this is no longer a problem with tubs!!!

Since I have been doing this I have had perfect sheds.....(clearly did not start out like that)

I am certainly no expert and have only had my Ball Python for 4 months, and I am sure somebody will tell me I am doing something wrong, but this is how we got our first huge success with a complete shed.

I wet two face cloths and put one at each end of the screen top (this was the perfect size to fit to the edges) I then covered each with a clear square of perspex (from amazon), to prevent evaporation. I left around one third of the screen uncovered where the heat lamp is. I sprayed often and kept the face clothes moist but not dripping in the tank. I replaced the face cloth for clean ones every day or so. Dont have the perspex too close to lamps though as it will go out of shape. I also have a large water bowl in the tank.

All the effort payed off when we found Slinky had shed in one piece over night. I was so proud :-)

We had a perfect shed last month depite humidity dropping to the 30s due to a dry spell plus the heat lamp. How I raised humidity (in a glass tank) was by having 2 constantly wet paper towels in the tank, along with the water bowl. Rather than spraying a mist, I'd occasionally dab the wet paper towels at various spots on the substrate (newspaper plus paper towel), but not actually inside the warm hide where BP was.

Get a small bowl and some spagnum moss. Get the moss wet in the bowl or cup.It will boost your humidity.

Use a cypress mulch substrate. I use a UTH and a basking lamp to keep my temps up. I use cypress mulch and repti bark and my humidity is in the 50-60% range even with the lamp. If it does drop down I can just use the spagnum moss and it's all good

I put a wet washcloth over the screen and cover that with a piece of aluminum foil. Sometimes I need to mist too depending on the house temperatures/humidity.
