first off let me start by saying hi. since it's been quite a while since i've posted here. i had alot of crazy things happen and been so busy that really just haven't had much time for forums. well let me get on to what i would like everyones opinion on especially people who have fires or vanillas. i got this C.H girl about 3 years ago and she has just gotten lighter and lighter each shed and is really making me believe she might be a fire. just from all the comparisons i've done online and to fires at shows i think she's quite a good candidate. here are some of her pics. mind you there all taken with a camera phone since my nice digital slr was stolen a few months ago and haven't had money to replace it. still decent pics i think. the first is a comparison between her and one of my other light normal girls.

trying to get the headshot pic was quite a challenge since she's always enjoyed the taste of human blood. now i know i can't go and say she's a fire or vanilla just from everyones opinions. thats why shes getting bred to my pastel and cinny male this year. so hopefully i get some real pretty babies to hold and breed back to her to see what she is. i just want to know what you all think she might be. fire, vanilla, something else or just real pretty normal.

You can get a male fire pretty cheap these days get one from a reputable breeder and breed it to her if you produce a BEL then you know for sure. Just because you don't on the first try that doesn't prove anything though. Other than that no one can really tell you if it is or not. And in my opinion you cant sell any of the offspring as fires without producing a BEL from it. Since it is a CH there is no telling what genetics it has without proving it. I have pictures of both of my fires on Iherp there is a link on my signature. I bought both of mine from VPI so I'm pretty sure there genetics are correct. I do plan to breed them together to prove it anyways. I have noticed in all the fires I have seen they are lighter than your average normal the have varying amounts of blushing and have a light spot on there heads.

yea the camera phone pics don't do her justic at all. sucks my house got robbed. they took everything but my reptile collection. i was extremly happy they skipped them. she is wayyy lighter in real life. the girl in there with her in the first picture laying across the top is one of my lighest normals. she is definalty a few notches beyond that. i should do a comparison between her and my darkest girl. then it looks like shes in with one of my cinnamons. her belly is actually quite clear. it just so happens i was spraying down all the cages right before i decided to snap the pictures so shes got a bunch of stuck cypress on her. she was very yellow when she was a baby and had some good blushing one reason why i picked her out. shes now around 2,300 grams so not a small girl. tried breeding her last season around 1800 grams but she didn't go. i've thought about getting a fire male to breed to her but if she happens to be one i think i'd rather prove her out as one by breeding a son back so then i'd have my own line of fires. personally i hope she's something different than a fire. that way i would have my very own morph that i could name to help add to the list of confusing names. lol. especially since there's so much new stuff popping up in private collections. it's almost the new africa.

That is definitely another good way to prove her out. She is a very pretty girl and very well might be a fire or other morph but in my opinion you have to prove it before selling any babies as anything other than normals. Good luck hope she proves to be something special for you.

yea i know selling any of her babies as a fire or something else until proven is wrong. if she does happen to be something special and until i know exactly what she is i'll be hoarding all of her babies. there's no chance i'll let any of them go the first few years anyways.

I think that she could poss be an axanthic due to the contrast in the pic.,as I have a VPI that looks similar.

i thought that too but as a baby she had none of the axanthic apperance. she was really yellow almost like a pastel but without the real bold yellow. just from all the baby fire pics i've seen thats why i think fire because they tend to look like she did in a way. i should have taken a few baby pictures. i really need to get a new digital camera or take my brothers from him for a few days so i can post some good pictures of her.
