    Question about Het Breeding

Ok well I have a TSK Het Axanthic male. I was wondering can I mate him up with a VPI Axanthic female and still get the Axanthic gene or do I need to stick with the TSK axanthic to get the homozygous trait to come out?

    Re: Question about Het Breeding

No…The two lines are not compatible…You need to breed it to another TSK Line Axanthic.

Damn well alright. I will be on the look out for a TSK axanthic female instead.

    Jon's right.

The only separate lines of Axanthics that are compatible (so far) are VPI and NERD. TSK and Joliff Axanthics are not compatible with each other, VPI, or NERD.

    Re: Question about Het Breeding

Makes me wonder what would happen if you bred double hets of both lines and produced a visual for both? Would it look any different?

    Inquiry minds want to know

That one clutch if sold to numerous people has potential to start all kinds of bad guy/girl threads and a bunch of finger pointing for selling bad hets and so on. LMAO.

Unless of course they were both visuals to start with.

Soo random question is there any difference between TSK and VPI Axanthic? Like visual wise?

    Re: Question about Het Breeding

It's fairly dependent on the animal, not necessarily the line. I've seen some fairly nice TSK Axanthics, and I've also seen some normal-looking TSK Axanthics; same goes for VPI Axanthics. (However, just from my own experience and browsing classifieds, I feel there are more VPIs that hold their silver better).
