    Pink Toe (avicularia avicularia) question

I was wondering how fast the common pinktoes grow. How fast would like a 3/4" instar reach a decent size, say around 2 inches?

what would be considered feeding that much? 2 crickets every other day?

its been a while since I've had tarantulas but I when I had them I would just get them good and fat and then not feed until a few days after the next shed. with a pink toe you should probably do just one or two crickets a week for a few weeks then skip one or two. at that size they should molt around once a month.

Re: Pink Toe (avicularia avicularia) question

I always feed our tarantulas a small meal about once a week (for a 3-4 inch tarantula usually about 1 or 2 crickets), which keeps them plump and active. If they seem skinny I will feed a little more.

And it is my understanding that these avics are fairly docile and will tolerate some handling, correct?

Yes indeed, for the most part anyway.

Re: Pink Toe (avicularia avicularia) question

It depends on feeding and temps. Why are you trying to make it grow faster? Generally that isn't good for them particularly if your T is a male, you are going to make it mature faster.
Generally you should feed once a week, 1 to 2 correctly sized prey items.
