    Hog Feed ?

i'm in the process of trying to get someone to order me lab block cant find any big bags within about 60 miles of me. I have been using dog food since I started but would like to start using lab block. I have decided while i wait on some responces i would try some hog food with the dog food. I have been feeding it for about 5 days now, the brand is hubbard and they call it "LEAN START 3 COMPLETE". Just looking at the lable and it reads that it is medicated " and was wondering if it would be ok to continue feeding of not. the one good thing is that it contains Min. 5% fat. if the food is good to use is it good to use on its own or not. thanks

Most feed stores should carry nonmedicated-tractor supply has producers pride. Purina makes several pig/sow growers

    Re: Hog Feed ?

I have used producers pride for my rats for months and I would not recommend it. It seemed to have burned out my females really fast and gave me crappy litter sizes. I went from an average of 14-15 to 6-7. Started feeding lab blocks again maybe a month or so ago and the litters are increasing again.

    Re: Hog Feed ?

After you use the 23% for a while, you might want to try coming back down to the 19%. I've heard from many people with the Kent that they found the 19% a better choice for their animals. I too also prefer my feed to hover between 16-19% protein.

    Cheers,
