Is it okay to put ceramic in the cage?
I found these ceramic toothbrush holders at walmart for two dollars and I thought they would make a good hide for my baby ball. i wasn't sure if ceramic was ok in the cage, I thought it might get to hot or something...I'm using a light right now, but will be switching to heat mats as soon as I can afford a set up.

IMO, the tooth brush holder is not secure or tight enough for the bp, on light issue, as long as the its on a dmmer, the lights not directly on it and you keep and eye on the temp of tooth brush holder, cool thought but i wouldn't do it

its a little more expensive but got to ya petco and get the exoterra hide, about 7 bucks, get a matching one. 1 on the hot side and 1 on the cool, make sure the heat mat has a dimmer as well, if acess to purchasing stuff off internet, you can go to reptilesupply and pick up hides and UTH for cheaper than a chain pet store

For cheap, you cannot beat the local dollar store. They have all kinds of plastic dishes and what not that can easily be turned into hides buy cutting a door.
I bought dark blue cereal bowls for all my babies, 3 for $1. Then I bought tortilla keepers for them as they grow, $1 each.
Got to love cheap snake supplies.

or just use old butter tubs or cottage cheese tubs or what ever tubs you empty food out of and you got free hides or water dishes
