Attorney: PETA worker neglected snakes in his care

ARLINGTON, Texas – Attorneys for an exotic animal dealer have accused an employee of intentionally neglecting animals to further his work as an undercover investigator for an animal rights group.

That's the big US Global Exotics case.

Just goes to show you how crazy PETA really is.

make sure your spreading the word, especially to the older folks you know to let them know that PETA is evil.

Lord knows how many little ol ladies are giving them money every month.

As much as I despise P.E.T.A. the problems in this place were just not nearly enough people caring for way to many animals. I couldn't care for a few thousand snakes either.

I don't know...I would estimate it would probably take about 10 hours to care for 1000 snakes if you had to change every cage paper and refill every water bowl. With many cages not requiring any more than a quick peek to make sure all is well...I wouldn't say it's impossible for one person to do in an 8 hour work day, not at all.

Snakes don't need to be watered every day, they don't poop or eat every day, and they definitely don't need to be cleaned up every day. I clean my snakes once a week, and feed the following day it takes me 20 minutes to clean 15 snakes which means it takes me roughly 1 minute and 15 seconds to clean 1 cage.

Let's do some math shall we?

1 Minute and 15 seconds broken into normal 1-100 numbers is roughly 1.333~, times that by let's say 1000 snakes you roughly get:

1333 Minutes, which is roughly 22.2 Hours which is only a little less than 3 days worth of work. That is IF you clean every single cage once a week, which isn't always necessary.

This doesn't take into consideration what methods they may have for cleaning or what kind of materials they used. See I use ceramique bowls, and paper towels so if the snake has made a mess it takes me a little longer to clean their bowl or to clean off a urate. But if you have 1000+ snakes this is a problem you've already resolved by either spot cleaning or rotating tubs, or maybe even both, and using disposable water bowls.

Now snakes don't need to be fed every week, feeding a snake bi-weekly is just fine, most people advocate feeding every week because a lot of people have intentions to breed which if that is the case weekly feeding is a wise decision. But when you're selling snakes, you're likely feeding them bi-weekly, which is still more than enough to grow a snake and to keep it perfectly healthy and happy.

So really keeping up with that many snakes isn't as difficult as it may sound, Barcyzk keeps up with 10x that in his facility with roughly 5-6 employees.

sounds like a guy lining his pockets by getting paid by 2 different companies with conflicting interest onr he being paid to care for animals and theo ther he gettign paid to spy on the lack of (possible care of animals).. I say he could of failed at one job to make himself look better for the other group. I man heck even I could care for that many snakes by simple rotataing the snake that are fed. week one feed 1/2 of the snakes week 2 feed the other half, ( that would only take 2 days then he got the rest of the week to clean and check water bowls and clean tubs as needed. ( using a little piece of color tape to mark were he stopped for the day. ) that no brainer I bet you pieds to butters he was doing the spying part cause it made him feel big and important.

I bet BHb reptiles don't have the issues with their huge collection and taking care of them.

Yeah cause they have it down to a system. Clean tubs are ALWAYS sitting by cause someone washes them, so all they have to do is take the tub put some bedding or paper in it, water bowl, water, and your done with that tub just put the snake in and your good to go.

Me personally every time my snakes poo, i clean the tub and hide and water dish with soap and water. It takes longer, but i feel better about everything being clean. Of course i could make it easier for myself, and i will over time but for now with 5 snakes, its not too bad. Now 100+ snakes, thats a different ball game.

Re: Attorney: PETA worker neglected snakes in his care

Yeah you cant say that guy couldnt follow a list of things to do for the animals. You dont do everyone all in the same day. You look in on each one and the ones that need cleaning get cleaned. You keep track of which days the bowls are rinsed and refilled for which snake. You have to alternate everyone or it just doesnt make sense.

If this guy was hired and given a list of jobs to do, that list could not have been more than what any one person could have done.

There is no excuse. The guy purposefully neglected the animals because he was working undercover for PETA.

This means PETA is knowingly killing more animals that would have been fine if someone else had been taking care of them. I would NEVER willingly employ someone who works for another company which is trying to put an end to having pets at all.

Shame on you PETA! Why would you do that??? That puts PETA lower than the crap coming out the behinds of all these animals put together.
