If you're only talking about 1 snake, I'd say go with the tank. If you're going to have enough snakes that a bunch of tanks would take up too much room, then a rack full of tubs would probably be best. Racks and tubs are generally used to save space.

Glass tanks are a pain in the butt to maintain temps/humidity. A tub SHOULD be fine but you need to make sure it really locks well. Also get two identical small hides from reptile basics to put on each side of the tub. BPs like snug hides so get the smallest one that your baby BP can cram itself into and then just buy bigger ones as needed. They are cheap. Get a UTH that covers about 1/3 of the enclosure floor so size is dependent on what you use. I'd go with the tub as they are cheaper, hold temps/humidity MUCH better are much easier to clean and more effective space wise.

Also on your list should be:

-Acurite thermometer/hydrometer from home depot or lowes
    -Digital thermostat.
    -Feeding tongs/hemostats
    -Cholrhexedine cleaner
    -Mite killer

I'd also recommend a laser temperature gun but that isn't mandatory. A scale is nice too for making sure your baby BP is growing at a good rate. Also make sure you get a baby that is on f/t. Even for a basic regular BP I'd go with a reputable breeder since you know that you'll be getting a healthy animal. Even with shipping you can get a baby BP for like $70 which is cheaper than the big chains which almost never properly take care of their animals.

edit: Honestly if you like the tank look they aren't TOO expensive and can work. I had a baby BP in a 10G tank for about a year and using a red heat bulb on the cool side (controlled with a dimmer) to keep temps up in winter and a UTH on a tstat on the hot side and aluminum foil taped over the mesh top to keep humidity up it did ok. A boaphile or animal plastics cage would be best when your BP is big enough to warrant one.
