Getting rid of the gradient

I'm putting my two BPs into an AP T10 cage (4x2x1.5') with a divider down the middle so they will each have a 2x2x1.5 cage. The cage has 11" flexwatt in it and I am in the market for a thermostat. What temperature should I set the thermostat to? Is 85* okay for digestion? 83?

Ball pythons need a hotspot of 90-92*F. Your ambient air temperature should be in the low 80's. You might need to set your thermostat higher than 92* to get a 92* hotspot.
