I've always gone with whatever size will wrap around tightly and have no slack. I prefer the flat bungees just for how they sit, but the round ones work just as well. By "lip to lip" I assume you mean across the top and hooking on the opposite lip? I was never confident that it would hold against a determined boa like that so I went with the wrap around method. Never used clips but then ocne they get to be about 3.5 to 4 feet it's time that they are moved into an appropriate enclosure that is designed for them, at least in my opinion.

Personally I'd use some small cargo straps instead of bungees. You can get them to a specific tightness, they won't come loose and they are way stronger than bungees.

Lol yeah I bet... I'm not sure how much money it'd wind up being but you could always build a wood/melamine housing for the big plastic tub. You could PROBABLY get all the materials you need out of a single 4x8 sheet of Melamine so for a single sheet and some wood screws it'd be pretty cheap.

at moment space is the biggest issue, i was thinking of moving thing around the room to fit a boaphile or one of the ve175s. i dont mind the clips. and to scotty boa, i dont have ANY carpentry skills, I was good enough to make the small shelf im house the boa tub on.

Just get Home Depot to make the cuts you need and screw it all together. If you can make a shelf you can make an enclosure. However, if there are boaphiles on fauna right now I'd buy one of them asap.
