The Emerald Isle under a blanket of snow.

It's not that often that we get a good covering of snow in Northern Ireland, especially here on the North East Coast, but this year we have been blessed with a white Christmas.

Some pics of our little winter wonderland.

Oscar wasn't so amused though. His first experience of snow.

Beautiful country, looks good under a blanket of snow too. The puppy looks like it wants to go inside. I can see it that one picture, it's saying, "Please take your pictures and lets get back into the house. This white stuff is sticking to my back legs and it's COLD."

Snow must really mess with dogs' sense of smell...everything gets...wiped out. "I - can't - smell - anything!"

    Thanks folks

Oscar was not amused in the slightest by all this strange white stuff. Even when I went to take him for a walk he hid in below the table and when I did get him outside he just sulked about and threw me dirty looks the whole time we were out.

My snow pics may seem trivial to some but it's the first we've had snow in five years and with it being Christmas and all that jazz it deserved being celebrated

Aye the Giant's Causeway is just a wee drive up the road from me. About 60 odd miles.

The one thing I've learned in my almost 49 years on this Earth is that nothing is trivial. Something as simple as snow is a wonder to most of the world. Once in the last 5 years would almost make it mystical. How many times have you seen it snow in your llife time?
