    should i be worried?

ok so i'm kinda new to having a ball python, i've done my researched and everything but i noticed in the last week my ball python aka cinnamon has been on the cool side, even at night she doesnt come out of her hide, i've heard for a few weeks and before she would in different spots depending what she wanted but in the last week she's been on the cool side in her coconut, should i be worried? i'm being honest i feel like she hasn't been out of that coconut, but i did feed her 2 days ago and she ate, even at night i don't see her out. please and thank you for the help and advice.

If you temps and humidity are right and it is eating regularly I would not worry about it.

ok i was just curious cause it's always on the cool side now and i was a little worried cause i never see her out, i know during the day she'll rarey come out or not at all but at night? just thought it was weird, and the humudity is a pain, i'm having a little trouble keeping it the right percentage, i'm using that reptibark thing, i'm noticing i'm spraying the tank probably more than i should.

to be honest i'm checking the temp and humidity with the ones you get at a pet store, the ones with needles, i found recently that i should invest in a digital one and i am tomorrow, Home Depot was closed today cause of christmas, btw merry christmas lol, but like i said the 2-3 weeks before that it alternated from hot to cool side.

It might be too hot on the hot side that would explain why its staying on the cool side now. Get an acu rite and check the temps if they are good on the hot and cool side you have nothing to worry about.

    Re: should i be worried?

It is an indoor/outdoor thermometer. Stick the probe right over the heat pad and put the unit on the cool side and it will give hot/cool side temp and it also shows humuidity. they sell them at home depot, lowes and walmart for around $12.00 but I cant find them on any of their web sites this is what they look like.

If you aren't controlling your UTH then chances are it is too hot and that is why the snake is on the cool side.

Being in the hides 24/7 is perfectly notmal though.
