Question on where to place prob on rack

got a simple question running a helix thermostat not sure where to place the prob .

i've been fooling around with placement and the best place seems to be foil taped to the flexwatt directly is this safe and correct ?

if not what location do you reccomened and taping it down with what thanks..

my thermo stat is set at 100F and im getting a hot spot of about 92F or will this melt the prob being foil taped directly to the flexwatt

    thanks

That is perfect and what everyone on here does. I do it personally and my Thermostat is set at 97 and inside the tubs the hot spot is 90-92 and my snakes are always perfectly warm. The probe wont melt untill at least 200 degrees, so don't worry about it.

I also have all my probes directly on the heat tape. Works well this way. Like the previous poster said you just have to have the tstat set a bit higher than the temp your trying to reach. Like with mine if I want a 92 hotpsot I know I have to have the tstat set at 96.

It doesn't matter but mine run length wise across both the black and the clear spots and works perfectly fine.

Re: Question on where to place prob on rack

I currently have the probes taped to the flexwatt ( this why some pics say wayhot temps) but I am gonigo t conver one tub into a dummy tub ( emtpy ) and just set a probe in ther against the bottom of the tub since most the snakes remove the aspen to get directly on the tub. I havea couple junk tubs for this. I also finding it helps if i run a space heater to get the minium temp for the entire room then the heat tape just gives me the hot spot with out worry of cooking the snakes.
