    Dwarf Retic?

All right...I found this posting on craigslist down in Georgia; http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/pet/1520839543.html. Is this really an Albino Dwarf Retic or not? I'm not so sure but I thought someone else might be able to tell better than I can. I'm trying to judge if this is a good deal or not and not even sure about getting her.

That to me looks like albino burmese and not a retic at all.

Also NEVER buy a Dwarf from unknown people as you will end up with a giant 9 times out of 10. Buy from reliable source.

    Re: Dwarf Retic?

Heres the Posting encase its flagged.

this pretty girl needs a new loving home,
    I'm moving to an apartment
and I cannot take her with me.
She is nearly two years old and approx 3 feet
She is in good health, eats one mouse per week sometimes 2
    .
The aquarium shes in is about a 50 gl and that is for sale,
it comes with decorations drift wood etc.
please contact me for more info or pictures.
    thank you
Pay attention to the words in Bold. A burm thats 2 years old still eating 1-2 mice a week is bad. That snake should be easily over 6-8 ft if it is a female eating jumbo rats. At this point id advise stay away from the person as they are lying to get rid of the snake saying its small when that snake is probably still under a year old and underfed.

AMEN there...There are only a few reputable breeders of dwarf tics around...Many have their tics and have breed successfully more dwarfs to add to the population...But if you do not know the source or get the genetic papers or you could be in for a HUGE surprise...But it's a TIC so it won't be all bad...

Thats sad. This person is either a complete liar or a complete idiot and has no idea what they have. It looks too thin too. I agree that if it really is that old its not being fed the right size meals.

    Re: Dwarf Retic?

Im pretty sure thats a burm. If you look at the head it doesnt look like a retic head. And even a 2 year old dwarf burm should be bigger than that and dwarf burms get about 6 feet. Let alone a two year old dwarf retic, which will usually stay between 10-14 if its truly a dwarf and the whole dwarf thing is a little foggy. If your not experienced i wouldn't get it, and the only reason i would get it would be to rescue it.

    Re: Dwarf Retic?

The pictures are bad quality but in the first one you can see the markings are big blocky markings. Square and rectangular markings like a burmese. Look at my avatar. Thats a retic. The markings are very different.
