It's different for everybody. The average reaction is an itching sensation especially around sensitive parts of the face (lips, eyes, noes). Some people don't react to it at all. For me, it's pretty uncomfortable but not unbearable. I just make sure to keep my face away and I always wash me hands after handling any of my hair kickers. Even if I do get some of those hairs on my face some warm water and soap seems to do the trick.
It can be mildly irritating but it seems a small price to pay for such a beautiful animal.
I have never really liked spiders a whole lot but want to get over that. So would something like a Mex. Red Knee be good to handle without it being skittish and jumpy?
I've heard Rose Hairs and Mex. Red Knee's are pretty docile for handling. I don't own one to confirm but I've been doing a little bit of research.. Here's an Arachnid forum that's really helpful

My female Rose-Hair kicked hair on my hands twice. And I always wash my hands right after I handle her. Plus I keep her at a good distance from my face.
