    i need help!!

i want to get a big snake.. but im not sure what to get.. i will not get it for another year or 2 .. but i want to be ready when i do get one.. i will get it as a baby so i can grow with it.. and i either want to get a tiger retic .. or one of the burm morphs..

i do know some abou these 2 snakes.. but not a whole lot..

i was wondering which one would be better to get for a beginner with big snakes

what i really need to know.. if fed the right size of meals once a week how fast do they grow? say if you have one that is a year old how big will it be?... ive hear when burms are adults they can get 20ft long.. and a retic can get past 30ft i think??? and how aggressive they are? and if you got bit by one which would cause the most damage? .. and basicaly what are the things you need to know before buying one of these 2 snakes?

one more thing.. when they are big like 15ft and bigger.. what i need to feed them and how much do those items normaly cost?

im sorry im asking so many things but ive heard of a lot of people buying a big snake without geting much if any info.. and i just want to be ready.. and want to make sure i can handle it! thanks for your help!!!

I've got a buddy that's got both, and with either you can expect fast growth, I think 8-10 ft in the first year (someone correct me if I'm wrong) adult sizes burms likely won't go past 16-17 ft, retics yeah upper 20s is possible but 20-24 I think is more likely. His retic is only about 8 ft right now... but one of his burms is around 16 and she eats a rabbit every 2 weeks

There really isnt a starter giant snake just like there isnt really a starter venomous snake. You just have to be ready to handle the responsibilitys of owning the animals.

I cant sit here and tell you exactly how big your retic or burm is going to be in a year with a feeding schedule of once a week. Snakes grow differently. You should expect at least 5-6 feet in the first year on a weekly feeding.

Burms and retics can both get past 20 ft. But thats not something you see everyday. There both very large snakes and either choice you pick is a pretty big animal.

Aggression is also different in each snake. My burms are puppys but that doesnt mean the one you get will be. I think retics and burms both are wonderful animals to keep. And will handling and proper husbandry you should be able to calm pretty much any snake down.

If you get bitten by either adult species its going to hurt and do damage. So either way is going to leave you sore.

When they get large you can feed them rabbits, rats, pigs. And the price for the food items are going to vary for each person. I get my rabbits for a dollar a pound. My retics are eating 3 pound rabbits a week so Im paying 3 dollars per rabbit for the retics. I would breed my own rabbits but with a dollar a pound I think breeding my own would just be a waste of my time. You can always buy frozen rats wholesale on line and save some cash
