First BP - Female Pastel
Just picked up my first ball today at the Columbus show, a nice looking female Pastel. There was a note on the display case containing her and 3-4 other Pastels that said "Will Not Eat F/T" ...which doesn't really bother me but I ended up getting her for $75 which was great. The breeder said that she hadn't eaten in about a week so I picked up a couple fuzzy mice. Unfortunately she didn't want anything to do with them when I tried feeding her.
Should I be worried or is this typical when bringing home a snake and having it adjust to a new environment? I must admit that I was excited to get her and handled her for about an hour in the afternoon so maybe that had something to do with it.
How long should I wait until I offer a fuzzy again and does it matter if I handle her in the mean time?

Before offering her food again wait a week, avoiding handling as much as possible.
-I wish my first snake was a pastel lol, post pics!

Just what the others said. Don't handle her, let her settle in. When you try to feed her next, try a hopper mouse. Fuzzies are way too small.

I tend to put them in a small tub with a hide, somewhere quiet & leave them alone..I start most of mine on large mice as they handle them easily, wouldnt go for a small food item..good luck with her

Re: First BP - Female Pastel
I agree with what the others say. Leave it alone (which can be very difficult, I know). Feed the snake during the evening hours. I've had luck getting a few babies to feed later than I usually feed.
Have fun and good luck!
