Rat n BP go nose to nose!

So today I fedd my BP. Hes about 5 months old. Was feed a small rat, but instead of strike it he went up to it very slow (took about 5-8 mins to go less than a foot), then just liked it about twice, scooted back a lil then struck. WHAT AN odd MOMENT. My snake is kissing his food!

Well if you feed f/t that is probably pretty normal.

My snakes all smell their food very closely before they strike. they sometimes just rub their noses all over the rat before striking.

Yeah, our littlest one does that a lot...sometimes he'll sniff around it then decide he doesn't want it.

my guy is still on rat pups and every time i drop one in he goes rite up to it and licks it a few times. The one time i gave him a mouse hopper he didnt hesitate and hit it right off the bat
