HELP !!! BRB has possibly been without Heat/Humidity for 6 DAYS !!
I don't know if I'm having the "New" owner freak outs or if I should actually be concerned ....
I went to check on my BRB today and the heating pad under her tub went out ... I was working on the 30th when I checked on her and my hubby is supposed to check on her every other day, but he hasn't been. So it went out sometime in the last 6 days ... Not sure how long she has been without a heat/humidity source.
AND just so you know ... the room she is in is kept at 70 degrees all the time. That might be the only thing that saved her.
I have ordered TWO UTH and they will be here on Tuesday. In the meantime, I have lessened the amount of substrate and set her tub on top of the Uromastyx enclosures. There is an 3/4" of wood between the CHE and the top of the enclosure. Temp gun says right over the CHE is 97 Deg and thats seemt to be helping her warm up a little, I also put a blanket over the tub to keep get heat & humidity up a little quicker.
She was so cold when I first touched her, she hissed at me and she tried to bite me THREE Times. I just let her be and put her on the Uro enclosures while I talked to Dave about the next steps in making sure she stays warm and healthy.
I have TWO main fears ...
1. I fed her two days before I think the heat went out ... there is no poop in her tub and she is like clockwork .. 2-3 days after feeding, she does her thing. She is supposed to get fed on the 8th but I don't want to feed her until she passes the other meal. Comments or Suggestions?
2. URI ... I know to look for bubbles from her nose for an URI... any other signs I should be looking for? I'm going to call my vet and see if they have any other ideas on this. Comments or Suggestions?
Any other things I should be worried about?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

for the future you might consider a herpstat thermostat, some models have a hi/low setting that sounds a audible alarm when temps are outside the desired range.

I have two BRBs, and all of my research has shown that they do fine at lower ambient temps than most reptiles. I've heard that if the temperatures get above 85 degrees for an extended period of time then it will kill them, so be careful as you try to warm her up. I keep my cages at 75 on the cold side and 85 on the warm side. I've been doing this for a year and everything is fine. I would be more concerned with the fact that she hasn't had proper humidity. How old is she? I think adults are more accepting of lower humidity than babies.

Age is pretty much unknown ... she is just about 3.5ft long. The humidity is getting back to where it should be ... up to 90% and temp is 81 deg on hot side, 73 on cool side.
