HELP! escaped ball python

Hey all! So I think I didn't completely secure my cage clips for my male 3.5 foot 2-3 year old ball python. Now I can't find him. Can you guys help me with some techniques?

look in warm places. under radiators etc. other than that good luck.

Plastic bags in every corner and around any possible hidingplace you can see.. sit in dark and listen for bags to make noise once you here it thats usually where he will be

He should be hungry too. I usually feed him a f/t small rat but should i get some live mice so he can smell them and put them in my room and wait for him to come get them? Thanks!

that could work as well ... sometimes it doesnt cause they know they are free and would rather explore ...but it might help never hurts to try

You could start thawing a rat on a heat pad on the floor in the room with the enclosure and see if he comes to check it out.

Chances are he didn't go far. re-check the 5' radius from where his cage is. He is probably there somewhere.

I have read that BP's are notorious escape artists and that you should look in sofa cushions, and damp warm places like behind appliances, in bathrooms etc. I also was told that if you take the sent of a rodent and run it along the baseboards of your home, that the animal will pick up the scent They are night creatures, so searching at night might be more effective as well.

Look in, around, behind everything electrical. TV, stereos, computers, speakers, refrigerators, ovens, etc... Also check in drawers, around beds, blankets, etc... Good Luck

I have learned not to take out a snake and play with it while taking ambien... LOL. The hardest one I found was in the guest room under the sofa bed. I flipped it up (with help) and checked all around inside it. just as I was about to give up on that spot, I noticed a small tear in the fabric underneath the arm of the chair. So I ripped it open, and put my arm as far as i could reach. On my way back pulling it out, I rubbed up against the snake I was searching for. LOL Couldnt believe it. One thing I can tell you, is I always look up, rarely down.

UPDATE: so I went on vacation and arrived to find a beautiful baby curled up in his cage. my roommate found him wandering the halls. this was the best xmas present ever.

on a more serious note: should I be really concerned about his health since he's been missing for so long? he seems to be doing fine. he's soaking himself because he's going to shed in the next week. i'm upping the humidity because he's been dry for so long (yucky dry heat in the house & no humidity in CO).
