housing together
ok so i have a rack system on the way but it wont be here for another 2-3 weeks... i have 4 balls right now and another on the way that should be here in the next two days. depending when they ship it out. i dont have the money to go get another tank and heat pad right now so im wondering is it ok to house them in the same tank until the rack arrives, and if so males with males or females with females?

Re: housing together
In my opinion, I think you should stop getting snakes until you have proper homes them! If you can't afford the tanks then don't get the snakes. It is pretty cheap to buy tubs. I think you are taking a big risk when housing them together. They may attack each other or eat each other. Also new snakes should be completely seperate from the whole collection for a month or more!

Re: housing together
Depending on their size, some could try to breed if you stuck males with females. 2-3 weeks is just enough time for a male & female to successfully breed, no matter what the weight is. Depending on how many tanks/tubs/etc. you have, I would suggest keeping the females together, and males separate from each other and the females. So, one male a tank, just in case fighting or cannibalism occurs.

Re: housing together
Just go to Walmart and buy a couple tubs. Depending on the size of the ball, it will range between 94 cents and $2. It will honestly be better for you to separate all of them, especially if they haven't been quarantined yet. You don't want to end up getting that new one, and it infecting the rest of them with something. Since it's breeding season, you don't want the males breeding with the females, the males fighting each other, or the females trying to show dominance over each other, no matter what the age. But it's pretty cheap to go get some small tubs since later down the line you could use those tubs for quarantine, water bowls for the big balls, or feeding tubs.

Re: housing together
Any snake is cannibalistic, you just don't normally hear about it in anything but Kings. They might not "eat" each other, but if one startles the other, he/she will bite and wrap in what looks like a feeding response and could possibly kill the other snake. I've never seen a BP try to consume another snake, with how picky they tend to be anyways, but it is a possiblity of killing the other during this season especially.

This is graphic, so if you can't handle seeing insides and stuff, I wouldn't recommend looking at these photos:

Re: housing together
Oh poor baby, yeah now that you posted those pictures I remember a topic on my other forum about it. Snakes will eat anything, and as you can tell, even their exact size counterparts.
