    Prehistoric Pets

I just visited Prehistoric Pets the other day to see if they had any heat cable for a 32 Vision rack that I picked up the other day and was SHOCKED! They charge a "donation" to look at the animals. It is $8.00 for an adult and I believe $6.00 for a child. $3.00 of the $8.00 goes to store credit. What!?!? Talk about a way to make somebody buy stuff from you. I don't really like how they care for thier animals and never have, but, I was in thier area and needed the heat cable so why not. I can't believe they are calling themselves a zoo! I believe a zoo would take care of thier animals a little(a lot) better!

I agree on the ASPCA thing. Jay is super rude also. He was there and walked right by, he did not stop to "act" as friendly as he does on his youtube vids. I guess the reason they charge now is because they are slowly loosing the store. They said that if people really love seeing thier animals and care about the store they should not have a problem "donating". As far as I'm conserned a donation is voluntary. You do not get to walk the store unless you pay the "donation". Sounds like an entrance fee if you ask me.

I cant stand them, even from their youtube videos. The guy Jay doesnt seem like he even knows what he's doing, he was cutting eggs like someone who's done it maybe twice, even though they supposedly produce a lot of clutches. He seems like the kind of guy who would own a strip club if he didn't own this pet store.

    Yep that's him.

I wouldn't go into their store if I walked in and then was forced to "donate" to enter. The place I get my feeders from charges an entrance fee, but if you buy something you get it back, and they don't charge regular feeder customers.

I think their youtube videos have hurt them alot more than they have helped. Just watching those, I wanna go in and scream back at him.

    Re: Prehistoric Pets

I have bought from them once, and was very happy with my purchase. It was a sub-adult female ball pythons, and she arrived very well taken care of, from what I could tell. BTW, N.E.R.D. also charges to tour their facility.
