What to get?? (poll)
Okay so recently ive been going back and fourth between what new herp to get. Ive gone from russian tortoise to bearded dragon to BP. i have absolutely no idea and theres always one thing that turns me off from one of them. I just want to get an opinion from you peeps
edit: i want a herp that is handleable and are generally docile. and every other weekend im at my dads house so i wouldnt be able to go see them at that time.

Re: What to get?? (poll)
If you already know the husbandry of a Ball python, I think it would be a lot simpler to just go for another. But, if you want to try something new, start researching. I researched a lot before getting my Bearded Dragon, and I couldn't be any happier with my purchase. She is a very calm girl and a great eater. I started out with an adult because I think the babies are a lot more difficult, IMO. I'm used to the 'feed once a week' schedule, and I know I wouldn't do well with feeding a baby as much as it can eat 2-3x a day.

Yea thats what turned me off of a bearded dragon. my parents are divorced and i dont go to my moms house every day of the week(where all my herps are). and theres no way id be able to feed a beardy 2-3 times a day, and my mom wouldnt either lol. and i really want the hogg island boa. a fellow breeder of mine has a rescue adult he wants to hook me up with.

I was split on this one. Don't get me wrong, I like balls, but have a soft spot for boas. Given your circumstances definately get a snake! Torts and liz's demand more care on a daily basis I believe, and since you aren't able to do that you don't want to worry yourself how the critter is doing since you can't get over there that often.
I voted BP - I think I would rather have the Hog though on second thought. Good luck whichever you pick!
