    Heat mats instead of flexwatt?

I am building a 4 slot 41qt rack for my ball python(s) near new years and i was wondering if i could use zoomed UTHs instead of flexwatt? i have like 5 lying around lol and they would be hooked up to a ranco thermostat. has anyone done this before?

and it would be nice if people sold prewired flexwatt ready to plug into the thermostat lol

the problem i see occuring with the uth's is that they have that one plastic bump where the cord connects which is gonna make it hard for you to use with the rack if you can get it to fit snugly with the tubs, more power to you because it will save ya some cash but flexwatt isnt that expensive..

Some do at no additional cost to you http://www.reptilebasics.com/flexwatt-heat-tape/

Every time I build a new rack I tell Rich what I need and he wires it for me and ships it out in no time.

You can use UTH but the problem is that you would need to control all of them independatly. The quality of those are near from perfect and I have seen some big difference of temperature from them. They tend to lose some heating property over time.

You can order pre-wired flexwatt. But it's not that hard to wire, not at all. If you can wire a lamp, you can wire those.
