Help asap!!!!
I am in Davenport Florida and have, from what my roomates have texted me, a VERY LARGE agressive "black" snake in our pool enclosure. They are both terrified of snakes and want it gone. I am an animal lover and don;t want it DEAD. They have tried to encourage it to leave but it strikes open mouthed if you get near it. I am thinking maybe pregnant and it has been there all day and will not leave. They will not go out to the pool area at all because it is there, and they will not let the dogs out. I was directed here by someone on another animal board who said you all might be able to help. My e-mail is nycstagegirl@yahoo.com
I would GREATLY appreciate any and all assistance (and redirecting of my post if it is in the wrong forum!)
THANKS!

Re: Help asap!!!!
Do you have any photos of the snake?
Also, would your room mates be happy if you just got the snake to go lie low somewhere or are they going to insist on it being gone?
Is anybody down in that area who could recommend phone numbers or people for her to call?

Re: Help asap!!!!
Pregnancy is an unlikely explanation--I agree, a photo would be extremely helpful, and provided it's clear enough, we can probably identify the species and tell you whether it's harmless or not.

Re: Help asap!!!!
From what you described, it could POSSIBLY be a mocassin, but we really need a picture to tell what it is. It could be a Kingsnake, too, or even a Garter snake.
