    Yet another feeding question

I'm going to try to feed Autumn tomorrow, she has not eaten for 4 weeks and was wondering how I should do so? Do I just try the usual heat up the Hopper in hot water and dangle it infront of her using tongs?( this has not worked yet). Do I warm up the Hopper and leave it overnight? What do you all recommend?

Cut a soda bottle a lil more than in half , fill with hot tap water and microwave until the water is very very hot to the touch ( NOT scalding , boiled rat/mice arent cool they explode) , drop the prey item in the water and let sit about 10 mins, remove prey item when thawed then offer on tongs or hemos.

    Re: Yet another feeding question

Has she eaten F/T hoppers before? If so, try it again. I place my frozen feeders in a ziploc and put them in hot tap water, then replace the water a couple times until they are warm to the touch.

Feed at night when she is awake... about an hour or two after sunset. Also, try pre-scenting the room with either the warmed hopper under a lamp or place a small amount of soiled rat bedding in her cage for about 20 minutes before you try to feed.

    Good luck!

If she's still small enough to only eat hoppers, I'd say ditch the f/t and try live until she's established.

I agree--it won't put a snake off of FT, if it has eaten FT before. They simply prefer live when it's available, and it can entice a snake to eat.
