What do BPs prey on in the wild?

I have a project in my Science class that's due next week, but since I'm not going to the field trip tomorrow I have to stay in my Science class for 4 hours doing the project, which is fine with me.

I had to choose two words that we are learning, and the words are Mutualism, Commensalism, Parasitism, Cooperation, and Competition.

In my poster, I'm choosing to do Parasitism and Competition. In the poster, we have to express the words we choose, meaning, we have to draw. We have to draw the setting (background), and the animals we choose. So, I decided to choose a Ball python for the animal, and the setting will be in Africa in the jungle. I'm going to draw two Ball pythons going after the same prey (Competition), and both of the Ball pythons will have ticks on them (Parasitism). I've seen clips of snakes in the wild (example: African Rock pythons) and I've noticed that they sometimes have ticks on them.

Now, the only problem is, I have no idea what they eat in the wild. I don't want to draw a mouse or rat since I've read that in the wild the don't eat those types of rodents. So, if anyone knows, what do they normally eat?

"In the wild, the diet consists mostly of small mammals, such as African soft-furred rats, shrews and striped mice. Younger individuals have also been known to feed on birds."

We are not doing your homework for you!!

All I know of in the wild so far are ASFs, Im sure they eat alot more other things out there. They reproduce very fast once they get going. They drop a new litter about every 21 days, and run in a colony/family system. The females help each other as if they were their own babies (also called the aunty system) and the males stay around and usualy bring food to the females. Very amazing critters!

You should use this for the ASF as like a reference when you're drawing him =D

If you decide to use an ASF that is..

LOL yeah yeah I know your not doing my homework for me, I was wondering what they eat so I can draw their prey item It's a drawing assignment anyway, so you wouldn't be able to help much unless I made everyone draw a picture of what I described earlier and I chose one to draw LOL. I like drawing though, and coming up with my own ideas, so that won't be needed

Anywho, about the ASF thing, that's really amazing! Rodents can be so dang smart. I heard in Africa (or somewhere) that they are using these giant rats to find bombs in fields and they are training the rats to find bombs.

Ya there is an old video of youtube about that, But Im pretty sure those are the "regular" norway rats that they use for those, which would make sence, since they are much bigger than ASFs.
