    Re: vinegar and baking soda

I don't know about the vinegar and baking soda method but I know that they way alot of people do it is via cervical dislocation. While not as humane in some respects as CO2 asphixia most people find it to be an acceptable method. Here a link explaining the process:

I have also heard of people using rat traps to do the same thing but this can be messy as sometimes the skull willl be crushed instead which can lead to alot of blood.

    Re: vinegar and baking soda

Just wanted to say we used the baking soda and vinegar method on Sat for two Lg rats and all went very smoothly.

We didn't invest in the Co2 paint ball canister set up yet as we wanted to make sure this was something we could actually go through with and handle before investing to much money into it.

But hubby followed directions from the really good site on line and it all went very smoothly. They both just went to sleep.

So now we plan to invest in the paint ball canister set up soon but will keep the other for back up.

I can say that if done right its a very humane way to go.
But that being said I can also see IF not done right it could turn into a bad experience too.

Anyway just my two cent here.

Paintball CO2 tanks are very cheap. I work for a paintball company www.actionvillage.com We have 20oz Co2 tanks on sale right now for $15.75. The average cost to fill is around $4 and this should last you awhile.
