How long do you leave males in?
This is my first season at breading. I paired my only mature female with a pastel male i have and saw them locked up for about a day. How long do you guys leave your males in the females tubs for? I was thinking of doing 4 days in, then letting them rest for 3 days, then back for 4? Any help much appreciated.

Re: How long do you leave males in?
I leave them in for one day if there is no activity--up to 3 days if I see courting. If I catch them locked, then once they're separate again, I remove the male, and either give him a rest, or put him with the next girl.
Rest periods for the boys depend on whether or not they're eating. I give them 2 days for feeding and digesting their food. If they're not eating, they get periods of 3 days off each week.
It's important to watch weight and behavior, to make sure they're staying healthy and aren't feeling overworked. ^_^
They get a full week off once or twice each season.

If I dont see a lock within 24hrs the male gets pulled, if I see a lock he is removed once he is unlocked

Re: How long do you leave males in?
I've ended up with some free time lately...
Depends..varies. If I see him trying to romance the female, I'll give him time till I see that she isn't going to accept him.
Then I'll pull him and soothe his fragile ego with a small rat or mouse (if he'll take it)... wait two days and put him to another female. If he doesn't take the prey, put him to another female in approximately 2/3 days..depending on if he's going into shed..etc other factors involved and so an and so forth..yada yada...
Basically 3-4 days on and 2-3 days off.

You really like to keep your snakes happy don't you??? I suppose it helps them not to feel so frustrated.
I like to do 2 days, switch tubs. 2 days, switch tubs. 2 days, switch tubs.
Then feed and rest for 3 days. But it varies.
