Up, up and away!
Last night my male pastel ball python decided to take advantage of my not latching his bin properly and went roaming about. After looking everywhere low, I caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of my eye...

This construct he's on, is my "Rhac Rack", where I house my crested and gargoyle geckos. And it's 7 feet tall. That is indeed the ceiling you see above him. He was on the floor to begin with. I know this because he left me a giant poop up against my baseboards/wall that I also had to clean.
In honour of his grand adventure I've named him Edmund, after Edmund Hillary, the first person to scale Mt. Everest.
From now on, Eddie, I expect you to be on your best behaviour!

Are you sure he didn't plant a poo flag on top of the mountain?...

Ahahah! That's classic. How on earth did he get up there?
I guess you just get climbers or you don't. My girl's only gotten out once, and luckily wasn't very far away.

He was trying to find Montreal... he misses the French!
I have had that so many times, and it always makes me laugh. Finding a rogue BP on the lamb.

I think he left it to get down to climbing weight...

Re: Up, up and away!
I'm still amazed he got up there. From the floor the bottom shelf, I understand... but over two feet to get up to the second shelf? And then about 20" between the second and the same between the third and the top. He definitely has a climbing spirity! Edmund suits him well, heh.
At least I knew he was in the room. Bugger is too fat to fit under the little gap in the door. Another pro of owning fat ball pythons versus wilely little colubrids, heh. My cornsnake would've been GONE. Not to mention when I did find him up there I had enough time to get out the camera, take pics, get a chair and then get him down.
Hopefully he wasn't too phased by his big escape. Tonight is feeding night and he better eat! I have a small rat with his name on it.
