    Ate F/T on third feeding!

Just posting to share a little victory -- our juvenile accepted a frozen/thawed "Arctic Mouse" from Petsmart yesterday. I ran by there to get a feeder mouse (I usually buy from a local reptile shop but it was Sunday afternoon and on the way home from church ). They were out, so I grabbed a box of frozen, and decided to try.

I thawed in warm water for about 15 minutes, then ran it under hot water from the tap for another few minutes to get the temperature way up, then grabbed it with my tongs and gave it a shot. The smell and heat definitely got the snake's attention, because he was going into strike position as soon as I put the mouse in front of him. All it took was a few wiggles and he struck, but completely missed the first time . I think it scared him actually, he sort of sat there for a few seconds looking around trying to figure out where the mouse was. He hit on the second strike, and ate like there was no tomorrow.

I'm happy, no more weekly trips to the pet store.
