quick question on head wobble

quick question i know this might sound a little funny but i have a male black back around 1400 grams but for some reason when he is out and about and especially last night since today is his feeding day usually when he gets hungry he likes to explore the top of his tank now i notice that when he does this that he kinda has that head wobble doing like corkscrew and flipping motions is this normal cause of the feeding scheduel or is it possible he has some spider het ? he doesnt do it when he is crusing around just when he tries to look out the screen top and also sometimes he just sits there and looks up ... now i seen some videos on spider wobble and the ibd issues and it doesnt look like ibd cause he doesnt slam his head around . but i have no info of his parents so im unsure if he has any possible het

sorry if this sounds stupid but im still somewhat a newbie

My guess is since spider is a dominant gene, animals that inherit the wobbling will also inherit the spider phenotype.

thats what i thought as well it just seems odd to me like i said he only does it when he is at the top of the tank he doesnt do it when he is wandering around and as you can see he looks nothing like a spider

he is the thicker one with his head coming out the plant my female is the thinner one

The spider gene isn't the only thing that can cause neurological problems, it's just the most common in BPs because it is selectively bred for the looks, other neuro problems are usually cause for not selecting an individual for breeding.

yea i understand that i just find it weird that he only does it when he is stretched out toward the top of the cage when its time to eat i have no idea ill just keep an eye on it .. it might just be a thing thats food related cause he only does it when he is hungry and on the prowl

It could be that he is just stretched out vertically and trying to hold his balance...

There is no het for spider, and it's not common for spider siblings to wobble. I can't say that I know of any spider siblings myself that wobble.

There are a very rare few normals who wobble, and the ones that I am personally aware of did NOT result from a spider breeding.
