Another "My snake isn't eating" thread :)
Well, this is my first breeding season walk through. My girl just hit 1500 g's (empty) and I have 2 males about 1200-1300. Another male 800 and two small females 500 & 700.
I tried my big ones on some big rats like normal (the rats were about 180-200 g's). My big male ate, but my female just followed it around the cage. I just thought, it's breeding season, no big deal. I dropped a little 50 g weanling in there and she ate it. I tried another, and she didn't want it.
So, do you just feed normal size rats? If they don't want it then try again next week? Or, is it ok that she's just eating the little 50 grammers? I'm going to try some 100 g's next week and see how that goes.
I'm not worried too much because i know it's breeding season, but I would rather have her eating the bigguns. I don't want to push her to eat, because i know it's stressful. Should I keep switching the size around to get her to eat whatever she is hungry for, or keep pushing the big rats?
What do you do?

I don't breed, and my female isn't up to age to start fasting around breeding season, so I don't have these problems.
If I were in that situation though, I'd probly go for something slightly smaller than what she's normally used to. It sounds like she's not up to eating a big meal, so maybe just give her a slightly smaller meal. As long as she's eating, it's all good!
