    Help with my Bee

Ok...we just had a thread about this but now I am starting to worry a bit.

Henry the bee (who is a dorky as they come) rearranged his fake plants in the corner of his tank and is laying on them up against the glass in the cool corner of his tank. Now a couple of days ago I thought....no big deal...but now it has been two days of this and though he shifts a bit......he stays there. I took him out yesterday and there is no wheezing...no scale rot...nothing in his mouth. He acted pretty normal. Then my hubby took him out last night and he did not want to go back into his cage. (weird because he always prefers his cage over being handled). But again he finally did and went back to the plants in the corner.

His husbandry is right on with the exception of the humidity is a little low at 50%. He has his two hides...his water bowl, he is only 2 months so his tank is a 10 gallon and there are lots of things in there so it doesn't seem to big for him. Typically he is always in his coconut shell.

His belly doesn't really anymore pink then it usually does, he is eating fine...acutally he is a ferocious eater.

Should I be worried that he is getting sick? Like I said...he is a real dork! Not the brightest bulb in the bunch...don't know if he is just being a goof ball...(no pun intended).

    Thx for your help!

It all sounds ok. So long as he's just acting dumb and not wheezing or drooling or growing nasty sores you should be fine.

I didn't read your other thread but pics are always nice and often helpful.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

Yah, it's probably not a problem. I have one bp whos favorite spot is laying on top of his cold-side hide, I don't think he's ever gone inside of it, he's kinda goober too. lol

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Although i experienced the same thing using those coconut hides so i swithched. But that was some time ago. I believe although those hides are tight around, they have some height to them. Just a theory.

    Re: Help with my Bee

Just as an aside, the tub that my juvenile normal is in has molded "handles" on either side of the tub, with just enough gap between there and the lid for him to squeeze into... sometimes he will squeeze his way up there, and hang, with his head resting on the substrate, and his body through that little tunnel, tail hanging down, for hours and hours at a time. If your husbandry is right, my guess is that they are trying out new "hunting spots" and waiting for a rat to run by .

As long as he is eating regularly, I wouldn't worry about it.
