    Talking Yay! First f/t meal!

I haven't posted in a while, because Artemis hasn't really done anything worth mentioning. She ate a couple more live mice and pretty much hung out. But today she FINALLY ate an F/T mouse (with GUSTO!). I bought some mice at a different store than I bought artemis from (because it's closer and cleaner) And I called yesterday and asked if they sold frozen or could at least prekill some, and the lady said they could, so I told them to do 4 for now, since I still didn't know if she'd eat them. I also bought 2 live ones just in case. She told me a good trick to switch them is to put a live one in there and get her on the hunt, then dangle the killed one where she can see and reach it better. So I put the deli cup with the two live mice in there for the end part of the frozen mouse thaw, and she was REALLY excited, she was staring into that cup flicking her tounge and trying to figure out how to get these elusive little prey items, and I just dangle/jiggled the thawed one in front of the cup so she saw it like it was from in there too and BAM...... She just finished eating it too. I'm happy and my parents are THRILLED!

    Good to hear!

I am still working on getting my new little one to eat for me.

That is actually a pretty neat trick. I have never heard of it before!

Oh it worked like a charm, she was SO excited she didn't even have time to really CHECK to see if it was alive or not, as soon as I dropped it in view and gave it a twitch, she was all over it, seeing the live ones (safely in a cup) got her all worked up and ready for it.
