Finally bought a scale and was surprised!

So I havent wanted to buy a decent scale to weight my BP but i've honestly just been lazy about it.

I finally forced myself to go buy one today and my BP had his first ever weigh in!

First; he's 1 year 8 months old this month. And yes, I did 0g the scale out with the container first before putting the BP in it. No padding the scale here!

1301grams was his weight on empty. Is it me or does anyone think that's big for his age??

This prompted me to start a chart in Excel to track his growth. I am also photo-documenting each weight-in. This will be fun!

Nice big boy! My male pastel is under a year old (8 months?) and weighs almost 600g - so that doesn't sound unreasonable to me. I also photograph most of my snake's weigh-ins, and it's fun to watch them grow... also a good way to keep track of growth, especially if you forget to record every weight in your iHerp (or whatever method you use).

He's a pretty big boy, and that's a fine weight to him.

I still need to get a gram scale..

When you were looking for gram scales, how much did you see them for and how much did you get yours for? I really need one so I wanna know the price range so I can make that much money for a gram scale.

I actually picked that one up from target for $29.99.

Lowes had a nicer one with a better read out for $49.99 but only if you ordered it online and I wasn't about to wait for it in the mail, lol.

I know it's not a professional scale or anything but I tested it out with a bunch of misc things that had their exact weight printed on them and the scale was 100% accurate.

Wow awesome! I should pick that scale up too LOL. I've been wanting a scale forever LOL, I can't imagine how much my female would weigh. She's a year and 6 months old, and pretty girthy. I want to weigh her so badly, can't wait until I get a scale!

Thats a very nice boy you have there

I have a pretty good scale but the surface area is too small for my biggest 03 female. I always need to ball her up in a pillow case, then in a container to weigh her LOL. And yes i zero out the pillow case and container first.

I want a bigger scale soon.

Tiffany, if you have the time/inclination, check out thrift stores and yard sales. Things like scales often see little use and end up falling victim to "decluttering".

    Great idea, actually

There was a garage sale in my neighborhood not too long ago, so if I find a garage sale I am for sure going to check it out.
