Hiking CamelBack Mountain

I love hiking, but I haven't done it in a while. I was hoping to see some reptiles, but I didn't really see anything at all since it was still early (8-8:30 am). I only hiked half way up the mountain; I was so worn out. Walking up stairs for 5 minutes is just torture LOL. Then, after doing that, climbing up a wall of rocks, twice. So, I was pretty worn out. Arizona's mornings are great, and it isn't even hot outside. Hiking in the morning in Arizona is definitely something to do. I snapped a few pics, too, so enjoy those.

Any other people here that love to hike?

If you notice in this first picture, look to the middle left of the picture. Those are the torture stairs..

During the summer we started hiking a bit. I think we went on a total of 4... Maybe 5. I loved/hated it. I hated it during the hike, but LOVED the feeling after it. We went to Yosemite and I thought I was going to die on the way up to Nevada Falls! The sight once we got to the top of the falls was amazing, and it was a really nice day. Didn't see any reptiles, but saw two donkeys!

We also did Mount Diablo, went up to "Deer flat". Didn't see any deer, but saw I think 2-3 lizards. My friend even caught a baby one.

I had to giggle Tiff because around that same time in Phoenix I was at work trying to walk a playful German Shepherd pup who is boarding. Yeah...... just about 8:15am is when I realized he wasn't walking because he was busy pooping on my shoe.........sigh

~sigh~ I deeply miss Arizona mornings! Especially this time of year. We'd start to see beautiful hot-air balloons popping up over Tucson every morning. Those pics make me homesick for Arizona!

We have some good memories hiking on that mountain. I remember when we first moved to Scottsdale we went and saw some of the local sites and Camelback Mountain was one of our first stops. It was about 12:30 PM on July 1st and there were 4 guys RUNNING up and down the mountain. It was freakin amazing that they could run up those narrow staircases in 120 degree weather. It's a very pretty area, but I'm glad we're back in Texas.

Well it is starting to get a lot cooler outside so around this time would be the best to come down and visit, but I don't recommend going up Camelback Mountain.. unless you hike A LOT and climb up some pretty hard mountains LOL.

Mountains with no trees...such a strange sight ha it's beautiful though!
I haven't been hiking since last summer, went to a place in northeast Alabama called the walls of Jericho. Way off in the mountains but it's worth it!

It's mostly cactus & bushes, instead of trees.

Oh yeah for sure! I haven't been hiking in a few years so this was pretty big for me, I haven't realized how hard hiking could actually get.
