    Reptile Basics Hides!

I've used the logs and synthetic rocks as my ball python's hides with good success. However I've always worried about dropping them on my snakes, and of course we've had that recent thread where a keeper dropped one on their BP. Well I've been wanting to get my collection out of the ghetto and have been upgrading their racks, hides, and thermostats. This shipment just came in:

I purchased from Reptile Basics a Johnson Controls thermostat, and a number of small, medium, and large hide boxes. I am totally stoked about these new hide boxes. Not only are they easier on my wallet, but their light, and very easy to clean.

Here's my ghost in a 32 quart box with a medium Reptile Basics hide:

She fits in her hide with room to spare.

My Sulfur Mojave is in a shoe box tub with a small Reptile Basics hide:

She fits in there perfectly snug, but I'll probably be upgrading her to a 32 quart and medium hide pretty soon. I cannot recommend enough Rich Goldzung and his company Reptile Basics, Inc. Fast service and quality products. Here's a link to the hides if anyone else feels like making the switch. http://www.reptilebasics.com/Hide-Boxes-p-1-c-282.html

I was looking into these and was wondering- what sizes are good for a 2000g bp? How about a 700g and a 900g and a 1000g? What about hatchlings

If you click on the link, it will give you recommendations for size of ball python and appropriate hide. Personally I have a 723 gram male mojave, 951 gram male albino, and 1078 gram female mojave (and the ghost which I'm guestimating is at ~ 450 grams) in the medium hides. They all fit well in them and I'm guessing I can keep them in there for a good while longer. I have a 1725 gram normal girl in a large hide and she fits perfectly snug in there. A 2000 gram girl might need to go into the XL sized hide. I don't think the XLs fit in tubs however and are recommended for cages.

I have a 3000+ girl in RBI's Large Hide. I do not foresee any ball python needing an XL Hide from RBI.
