Picking up a (?) Boa tomorrow

So, I've been out of the reptile rescue scene for a good long time now, but from time to time people will somehow manage to contact me anyways. This time is a friend's parent who owns a few rent houses.

Anyways, tomorrow I'm picking up what the fellow said, while smacking on his gum "a brown peethon snake"

I asked a few questions and my best guess at the moment is a red tail boa. Apparently he's the landlord and the last tenants of his house up and left, leaving the snake and its enclosure behind. And he wants it gone.

So tomorrow I'll be stuffing it and its tank into the back of my poor little Malibu and dragging it home. Goodness only knows what kind of shape it's in, if the owners didn't care enough about it to take it along, and it's been in the house a couple weeks alone now.

And yes, of course its going into Q. Right now, all I have are a beardie and a big female ball python, and I HAD a pastel ball python, but his little butt escaped and has been on the lam for a couple days now, despite us turning the house upside down three times so far searching for him.

With my luck, the bugger will find the Q snake and crawl in beside it.

Anyways, I'm counting on my bp.net pals to help me out, it's been quite a while since I've owned a boa, if that's indeed what it is.

Will update tomorrow when I get home.

Wellll...doesn't seem that anyone is interested, but I'll update anyways.

There was indeed a red tail boa when I showed up, in a 60 gallon tank. Tank was dirty, but snake is in excellent condition, if a bit dehydrated.

We just recently moved, so I haven't come across my probes just yet. So no idea on the sex. I got it set up in a clean enclosure and checked it over. No obvious problems and it is alert and interested.

Not a boa person so no idea if bci or bcc.

Some pictures, before I moved it to a Q tub. Once its enclosure is sterilized and it is deemed clean and comes out of Q, I might set it up in my living room as a display animal, as its quite a lovely snake.

Thanks! BCI huh? I thought so but wasn't for sure.

S/he is a very pretty snake, and hubby is already attached.

Your new boa will prove to be an awesome pet snake. And an awesome display animal!
    Hope you find the escapee!
