    Does your ball ball?

I'm not overly worried but my bp Jade is definitely making me question why they call them ball pythons...I dont know if she has ever balled up when she was out of the cage. I usually just let her roam around on me and my desk but when I pick her up she kinda just lays out or goes around my hands. Not too sure but I just wanted to hear how often ya'lls balls ball.

    Re: Does your ball ball?

My male balls up when I pick him up from the tub, and sometimes when I pick him up from roaming around on me, but other than that he's fine.

My female, however, never balls up. She is so docile and used to human contact that she doesn't even ball up anymore. Not even when I get her from the tub. When I do she just straightens out not balls up.

    Re: Does your ball ball?

The babies and shy ones (like Rosalind) do ball up when I first disturb them - and stretch out once they realize I'm not a threat. But the older ones I've had for a while? Hardly ever. Seriously, I can't remember Toby balling up since the first day I brought him home... and I only WISH Mona would go into a ball, so I could get a weight without putting her in a snake bag. IMO there's no reason to be worried, in fact I think it's a good sign your snake is relaxed.

I've had mine for about a month and he's balled up only once.

nearly every baby does right out of the egg, but quite a few lose that as they grow and get more used to you. I have a few adults that ball up to one extent or another, some make kind of a loose sloppy ball but I don't have many that make a nice tight perfect ball as adults.

Mine did when I first got him at 3 weeks old! Every time I went to pick him up, he balled up! After a couple times of being handled he stopped and never did it again!

I agree! Jade is just over two feet and it's still a pain to try and get a weight on her lol

    Re: Does your ball ball?

Most of my young ones ball up, but the older ones don't anymore.

HAHAHAHA! Glad I'm not the only one who finds it's a battle to weigh the bigger snakes.
