A few weeks ago, I went in to check on Rubiix and change his bedding and water and found him almost unresponsive. His movements were slow and he just seemed to be in pain. Being Sunday, I could not take him to the vet to be euthanized by injection so I placed him in the freezer. I think at that point, it was a gift. I had to end his suffering. He had been slowly withering away and in the end, he weighed little more than 20g, was severely dehydrated, and was suffering.
I thank EVERYONE who helped me with this little guy, from the moment of his laying, the day of his hatching, right down to now. You all have been the most helpful group of people I have ever met and I thank you so much. Rubiix will always be special to me, but I learned a lot in my first breeding season.
Thank you, Everyone!
