Got any good ones?

My guy escaped by opening a sliding glass door that we had thought was too heavy for him (oops) but was just right beside his tank playing in some fabric.

I'll bite, lol.

I had a yellow belly hatchling pop her lid and disappear on the 12th and I looked everywhere, turned everything inside out but no snake.

Fast forward 9 days...
I recently got a puppy and decided while the landlord was roaming the area, to pick up dog poo in the yard.
As I was weaving through the yard picking up the duties I scanned out in front of me and found the little snake curled up in the grass.
My snake room is in the back of the apartment, the snake was found over 100 feet from her tub.

Moral of story: Don't use pop top 6qt tubs for hatchlings

My first popped his lid open and I turned my room inside out looking for him (I always keep my room door closed so I know he had to be in there somewhere) and I was literally FREAKING out because we had a central air conditioner installed recently and they had to drill a hole in the closet for the ventilation tube thingy which means if he got into it, he could be ANYWHERE in the house (walls/pipes/etc.) We also have cats and dogs who routinely catch things like mice and cockroaches to play with and I didn't want them hurting him. Finally found him lodged inside the regular air conditioner that I stowed away in my other closet. I piled books and all sorts of heavy things on the tub after that.

Then two weeks ago when I got my female BP and switched them to these stackable sliding sterilite drawers that were on sale in walmart--didn't know they could escape from that as well. I stopped my male in time because he's older and bigger and I heard him thumping around in there so I modified it. Then went to check up on the girl and realized she was gone. Freaked out (again) and turned my room inside out (again), COULD NOT FIND HER. Started running around the house looking for the dogs/cats in case they found her and took her somewhere--finally, giving up, I went to clean up the tubs and lo and behold, she was simply sitting UNDERNEATH the drawer.

Modified it as well and haven't had an escape again.

On the odd side, my corn snake who lives in a 50 gal glass tank was very curious about me bumping around--he came out of his hide and watched me run around the whole time. At one point I caught him looking at me and before I could stop myself, asked irritably "What're you looking at?"

I swear he shook his head at me. =_=;;;

My funniest one happened when I was gone. A friend was looking after my critters, and she came over to check on them one day. She went into the kitchen and found my spices all over the counter, in the sink, and on the floor. (My spices are kept on little shelves on either side of the window at eye-height or higher.) She figured it was a microburst or something similar since I keep the kitchen windows open. Not too long after, she noticed Tungsten, my VPI Axanthic, was missing from his cage. He had popped the lid off its hinges and taken a stroll around the house...which, apparently, included the shelves above the kitchen sink! He was found under a pile of grocery bags in the corner of the kitchen.

lol, well i bought new supplies for misa during the summer, so i placed her in this box thing and i put the screen lid on and as i was finishing cleaning her cage; She wasent in the box no more so then i was all like (in order) , so then i looked to the side of me. and we had a stove that we havent used in a long time and i saw her climb iin the stive. so i tried to grab her by the tail but she diddint budge. so i called my mom and by the time she came she had already got in stove. so i had no tools to take it apart i had to wait till next day to call animal control. so i looked around the stove , until i got a glimplse of her so i grabed a mouse and i left it in a container outside the stove just incase she wants to eat and then i can grab her. so hours passed by, and i had an idea. so i placed ice ontop of the stove so she can move closer to a opening and i can grab her. so for a mometn it was working so imm all like , but then as i was reaching for her she turned the other way. so my mom told me to go to sleep but i was worried that during the night she would go away.(8 hrs later) i woke up i rushed to the stove i saw nothing. again i was but then i saw her she was moving deeper in to the stove . so we called animal control . it took 2 hrs but they got her out she made her way to a comfy stuffy thing. and then the animal control guy said we dont ussualy do this , but i was gratefull. i think he did it because he himseld also had snakes. so long story short she escaped, i was worried , after i got her out i found out that she actually ate a mouse idk if it was live or not.

I've got a bad one.

I went to peru for two weeks to visit my girlfriend while she was interning at a clinic there.

I asked one of my gf's friends to pet-sit.

When I came back, I found out she had left the top open accidently one night.

My bp is still missing, even after trying every trick in the book

Two lessons:
1) don't let anyone watch my snakes while I'm gone, just lock the cage top.
2) escape proof cages are only escape proof as long as they are operated correctly.

My snake escaped about three weeks ago and I was horrified. I asked my mom and stepdad to look over my snake while I was gone, which was only four two days, and I come home to an empty tub.
I tried everything. I put a live mouse in the snake room and sprinked mouse bedding throughout the house and setup a tub with a live mouse in the main room of my apartment. I tore my place apart hunting for my elusive snake. Four days passed and nothing. Then, on the fifth morning, my mom told me to 'Come get her.' and when I saw the surprise on my face I knew she was talking about my snake. I was sooo happy to find her unharmed and curled up in my mom's underwear drawer.

Be careful about letting people, and I mean anyone, watch your snake while you're away and check everywhere. The snake's room is on the opposite side of the apartment from the other bedrooms in the house. She went through the kitchen, the living room, a bathroom, and probably even my bedroom to get into my mom's room.
