my spiders head is wobbling

i googled the head wobble and foudn a link to a page on these forums that state that spiders do this more often than other balls. I know this is fatal according to what ive read so i have some questions.

Ok so he tends to woble his head but also does the corkscrew thing from time to time... ive only him about a week and a half and ive seen him do like 4 times... also he doesnt seem to grab onto me. With my first ball which was an adult it would always wrap around my hand/arm but when i pick this guy up he makes no effort to constrict what so ever. In fact when i pick him up he barely moves. My gf bought a corn snake the same day i got my ball and hers wraps its tail around her pinky and will dangle around but mine just doesnt seem to do it, is this a problem.

also i called the people i got the snake from a couple days after getting him and told them about the corkscrew and they said to call back if it kept up, should i inform them of the wobbling and the lack of wanted to constrict.

if it matters i fed him once so far and he did just fine with a live mouse.

Does anyone know how to find a good herp vet in the greater hartford area of CT.

I know this is fatal according to what ive read so i have some questions.

It's not fatal and it is extremely common in the spider mutation.

If you're not happy with the animal, you should inform the breeder that you got it from and see what they can do for you. Many good breeders would be happy to work with you to make sure that you are a satisfied customer.

There's no reason why your spider will not grow up perfectly normal (other than the "wobble") if you decide to keep it.

Wobbling is a fairly common issue in the Spider morph and I believe it is generally thought to be a genetic/congenital neurologic issue. That said, there is really nothing to do to treat it per say, and it I am fairly certain it is not really considered fatal (except possibly in really severe cases). As long as the animal eats then it should be all right. What you are describing sounds like a mid-grade wobble. I think I remember reading that stress or excitement tends to cause a higher expression of the wobbling, so you may notice it decrease in intensity a bit as your animal settles in.

I live in the greater Hartford area as well and this was the only place I could find that actual states they deal in exotics/reptiles.

i read on another thread that it was 100%fatal ... thats the only reason i was worried. I could care less if hes shakey like an old lady trying to hand me change as long as hes healthy and gonna be able to breed me some nice bees if i decide to try breeding in the future.

In the Spider gene, the "wobble" is quite common. Many Spiders have this wobble, but some have it bad and some don't even have it at all. A Spider could carry this wobble (without showing any signs of it) and still pass it to the offspring and there is a possible chance that the offspring could get this wobble too. This wobble can also be spread to offspring that aren't even Spiders (ex: Normals, Bumblebees, and anything that could be bread to a Spider).

It is not fatal at all, and is completely normal. A Spider with a bad wobble can still grow up to be perfectly healthy and even breed.

You were probably reading about some of the symptoms of IBD, which is fatal.
Spider "wobble" is not. From what I've read, it seems to be aggravated more by stress...

I think that you are confusing the spider wobble/spin with Inclusion Body Disease (IBD) - which IS fatal to pythons.

However, they are not the same thing.

Yep, not fatal. If you are going to breed and keep spiders the wobble/spinning is just something you are going to have to learn to accept. I would not take the snake to the vet. There is close to a 100% chance that they will have no clue about the wobble in spiders and you would just be throwing your money away.
