max fought a possum!

i came home friday night from the movies at 12:30 a.m. and heard max barking but thought nothing of it. i go into my room and he's still barking. my dad comes into the room and tells me to see why he's barking. i go into the backyard and max comes and gives me the "follow me" look and i shows me what he found behind his dogloo....





my dad then came out with a broom, went behind the possum and smack it in the back to get it to scram and it turned around and hissed at my dad. at that very moment max went up behind it, grabbed it by the spine, and literally shook it like it was his own toy for a good 10 seconds then dropped it.



i thought it was dead but it slowly came back to life and my dad put it in a box and let it go in the back alley. according to him it limped away.

all i can say is, good boy max!

When we had our dogs they pinned a opossum once. They wouldn't quit barking and when I went out back it was playing dead in the middle of the yard, and one dog was behind it, nipping at it's back, while the other was barking right it's face. It was a pretty strange way to team up on it, but it worked well. We got a big scrap of old carpet and chunked the lil dude over the back fence.

my parents found a dead (not playing) 20+lb HUGE FAT possum in their back yard once.

Apparently it smelled really bad too.

Aww, I love possums. I found one in my trashcan when I lived in Arkansas and I didn't want to mess with it lest it get angry so I went to school assuming it would get out.... it didn't... and it rained that day. I came home to find a freezing cold shivering possum in my garbage can and I felt horrid, so I knocked the can over and it slowly walked away, shivering the whole time. If they weren't so vicious I'd have wanted to hug it.
