Ok, that's weird. Maybe trying to regurgitate?
When I was about to leave my room I notice Candice doing something odd. Tonight I fed her in her new tub, so I'm thinking she may try to regurgitate because she's stressed( )? She was making these weird motions with the front of her body, sort of/in a way going side to side. So, not really sure what's going on, but I'm guessing I may find a rat in the middle of the enclosure soon.
What do you think?

That's a normal motion they make as the rodent moves down the length of their body into the stomach area. It's especially noticeable in a shallow tub because they can't lift their bodies way up in the air for some gravity assistance like they can in a tall tank environment.
The first time I fed Butterscotch a rabbit (the burm at the zoo)...I saw her doing that same thing well after I thought the rabbit had moved far enough down her body. I'd been bumping around in the snake house a bit and figured I'd really bothered her and she was trying to spit up her meal. I put everything down, turned out the light and left. Came back an hour or so later and there was no sign of the bunny...she kept it down after all.

Ya I don't really know what she's trying to do, but I'm guessing maybe trying to regurgitate. I really hope not though because I had 2 Corn snakes in the past who died from regurgitating so I really don't want that to happen to Candice.

Ya I thought she already took it down as she was going into her hide because she was moving her stomach like she was moving the rat down. When she was making the weird movements she like moved 1/3 of the front of her body out of the hide and then kinda sat there. I'm going to go check on her right now to see if she's still down that.
And when I fed her in a separate container she'd always lift her head in the air but now she can't since the 41 qt tub is kinda shallow. My mom kept saying it was too low when we were at the store but we got it anyways

Re: Ok, that's weird. Maybe trying to regurgitate?
Odd. I'd keep an eye on her for sure. How long ago did you move her to her new tub? Normally when they are going to throw it back up, they do sway side to side and do a lot of opening and closing of their mouth. You can normally see them pushing the food item back up too. She is not making any kind of wheezing or popping noises is she? No bubbles coming from her noise or her "drooling" with snot. If no signs of a R.I. I'd keep a close eye on her. If she does regurg it back up. Do not handle her or disturb her for a full week, and try feeding her again in 7-10 days. Feeding her again before then can result her in reguring again and every time they do it, the acid in their stomach messes up the lining in their throat. So you gotta give her a few days to chill out and heal up.
Best of luck, keep us posted!

I wouldn't bother her at all right now. If she's THINKING about regurging, she might be able to relax and finish swallowing it if left alone and she feels safe. (As I think Butterscotch did that one day) But if you keep lurking about her tub and have light shining on her, she may go ahead and spit it all the way out.

I only checked once and right now all lights are off in my room except the one in my Giant Leo's tank but that's an infrared heat lamp.
Also I'm having a problem with the Dimmer for the UTH, so can you check out my other thread with the tubs (it's named Tiff + Tubs = )
