What are the visible differences between Butters and Lessers?
Because I have seen a lot of obvious "oh thats a butter" or "yup that's a lesser" but at the same time there seems to be a point where they overlap, and the more of each I see the larger that overlapping seems to be.
Any help?

Re: What are the visible differences between Butters and Lessers?
Hi,
I wish I could help you but, frankly, I just plain can't tell the difference.
I read that butters have more or richer yellow but when I look at my lesser and pictures online it almost looks to me as though the ones that people call butters have less yellow and look greyer on the sides to me.
I thought for a while that butters had more alien eyes but then I have seen lessers (or declared lessers ) with loads of alien eyes too.
I look forward to the replies that explain it - hopefully with pictures.

Oh thats an easy one..
This is a lesser

and this is a butter

Ok no I'm playing I have a really hard time.. Darker lessers look like Butters and light Butters look like lessers.

Well I've never seen a butter and a lesser, in person, side by side. But I have seen a pastel/butter and pastel/lesser side by side and in my opinion the lesser had more of a vibrant yellow to it. But if i wasn't told from the get go which was which I wouldn't have been able to say. And we all know that yellows vary even among pastels????

They are so close they are virtually the same. I doubt anyone can tell the difference reliably.

I don't have a Lesser but I do have a Butter.

On most of the Lessers I have see they have a more yellowish outline on their patterns.

Re: What are the visible differences between Butters and Lessers?
The frame of thought usually is Butter, lesser then mojave as far as yellow intensity from the white producing snakes. But lessers and butters are real close and most believe they are one in the same. But there are different lesser lines as well. RDR and African line. One is more blushed and one is higher yellow. The RDR makes nicer Queen bees.
